More than 14 years after his final fight, Sugar Ray Leonard is landing a knockout punch on the world of boxing. In his new book, The Big Fight: My Life In and Out of the Ring, the Hall of Fame boxer claims he was sexually assaulted—by a "prominent Olympic boxing coach"—as a teenager back in the 1970s. And, oddly enough, it was an appearance by actor Todd Bridges on The Oprah Winfrey Show that gave Leonard the courage to put vivid details about the assault in his book. "Last year, after watching the actor Todd Bridges bare his soul on Oprah's show about how he was sexually abused as a kid," Leonard says, "I realized I would never be free unless I revealed the whole truth, no matter how much it hurt." Crazy shit, dude. He isn't discussing any other details about the incident until his book tour next month though (smart man!) so stay tuned. [via TheYBF]
