Video: Hennessey-Tuned Cadillac Escalade Vs. Nissan GT-R

A case of deja vu all over again.

Someone at the Hennessey tuning house must have it out for Nissan's GT-R. Why the haterade is mixed so strong, we may never know, but one thing is for sure—it makes for some good track video! You may remember the last odd match-up which pitted a Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon against "Godzilla". This time, the showdown is even more obscure.

Pulling up to the line this time is Hennessey's HPE1000 Escalade, a twin-turbo SUV that packs over 1,000 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds. Up against the GT-R's 485hp it sounds like a no-brainer, but since the Nissan still runs a 0-60 of 3.4 seconds, it's still an interesting face-off.

GT-R fans will no doubt scoff that the car in the video is a 2011, and not the revamped 2012 model. The Escalade also gets a huge jump, but at the end of the day, it's still a 6,000 lb. SUV out-gunning one of the most coveted cars in production. Nice work, Hennessey. We can only imagine what's next.
