Samir Nasri, Carlos Tevez, and Mario Balotelli (above) are among those who love them; Rio Ferdinand, Roy Keane, and most old-school Brits despise them—yes, we're talking about soccer's most controversial winter accessory, the "snood." The increasingly popular neck-warmer is in the news today, as FIFA is discussing a possible ban due to its safety concerns. Well, that's what FIFA says is the reason, but we think the powers that be just see snoods as a little girly and want to get rid of them. We tend to agree. FIFA convenes to talk about this and other issues on March 5, so until then, let's hope none of these guys choke on their own snoods. [via The Guardian]
