Despite not being an official Mercedes-Benz factory racer (Mercedes supplied the engines), the Sauber team still employed M-B's legendary silver paint job. Though it got off to a rocky start, the C9 found its groove in 1989, winning all but one race, and setting the record for fastest top speed in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a recorded speed of 248 mph. Talk about a silver arrow.
