If the Regal's styling looks at all familiar, it's because the car already exists as the 2009 European Car of the Year, the Opel Insignia. Like GM did for Saturn a few years back, it looked to its overseas brands for a stylish, sportier model on which to base one of its new cars. The good thing is that most of the fine-tuning of the car happened over in Opel's backyard, with extensive road testing done on the Nurburgring and Germany's high-speed Autobahn. Do we care that Buick is pushing a re-badged European whip as an American sports sedan? Man, we couldn't care less.
