Complex Says: The goal for the upcoming generation of automobile engineers is to produce cars that are as green as they are fun to drive. Ford takes a step in that direction with the 1.0 liter, 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine they built for the Start. While there's no hard specs yet, the powerplant was built to be a smaller version of the same EcoBoost engine found in the Ford Taurus SHO and the Lincoln MKS EcoBoost. According to Ford, the turbocharged engine will deliver power comparable to a 4-cylinder motor. That already sounds better than whatever's powering the SmartFourTwo and Toyota iQ—our money's on a pissed-off hamster. We keed!
