Nike and New York go way back, especially Uptown. The brand has been a staple in Harlem and The Bronx for decades, with those enclaves helping put models like Jordans on the map. Now the sneaker company is making those relationships official, opening new Nike Unite concept stores in Harlem and the North Bronx, which means it now has a retail presence in all five boroughs.

Nike kicked things off launching its new North Bronx location on Sept. 22, followed by the grand opening of its Harlem store on Oct. 27.

Both locations are designed to be community centerpieces. At these new Nike Unite stores, Bronx and Harlem residents can come together to shop for the latest shoes and performance apparel with an eye towards giving back, celebrating local athletes while empowering area children to get moving and exercising.

Each new store also features premium performance apparel and footwear for women, men, and children, with an emphasis on basketball. Shop either location for Jordan fleece tops and pants, Club Fleece Hoodies for men, Essential Fleece for women and kids, and even technical must-haves like the women’s Nike Pro collection, Indy bras, and Tempo Running gear. The stores are also stocked up on lifestyle footwear for men and women, including the Air Force 1 ’07 High, Air Force 1 ’07 SE, and the Force 1 LV8 for kids, as well as performance sneakers like the Air Zoom Pegasus 37 and the LeBron XIX.

Each new Nike Unite location is also giving back to New Yorkers in a number of ways. Nike Unite North Bronx partnered with community organizations to give away 650 Back to School kits, including Global Kids, Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School, WHEDco, America on Tech and New Settlement. And, over its opening weekend, Nike Unite Harlem hosted 150 young people from nearby community organizations like Figure Skating in Harlem, Hope Center, World of Money, Milbank Children’s Aid Society, and Global Kids, to celebrate the store’s opening with fitness workshops and retail shopping.
