A few notable things happened in the sports world this week: the NCAA Basketball season ended, the Major League Baseball season started, and the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2012 was announced, which included Indiana Pacer legend Reggie Miller. This week's Kicks on Cards Collection has representatives from all three sport happenings with Reggie, a baseball player spotted in a classic turf trainer, and an early 90's sneaker sighting from one of the Final Four teams.
First up is newly crowned Hall of Famer Reggie Miller. During Michael's time away from basketball, many pros took to wearing the Air Jordan IX, including Reggie. Here we see him at the stripe for what almost surely was a made free throw, with his .888 career free throw percentage.
Next we have Mark "The Gardener" Gardner, former Giants pitcher and current Giants pitching coach, chilling in the dugout wearing the classic Nike Zoom Turf Trainer made famous by Barry Sanders. The Zoom Turf released in 1996 and has become a favorite of the Nike Training Line. It appears Mark customized his pair by cutting of the straps.
For the NCAA basketball representative, we have somewhat obscure Ohio State Buckeye Treg Lee in the Nike Air Solo Flight from 1990. Treg never made it to the NBA but at least he has this card documenting that he wore some classsic early 90's heat. To finish up the collection we go back to the NBA with Jerome Kersey in another early 90's Nike model, the Air Bound low top and Shaquille O'Neal in one of his lesser seen models, the Reebok Shaq Attaq 2.
