Kicks on Cards: The Weekly Collection Featuring Gary Payton in the Zoom GP

We're back for another edition of the Kicks on Cards Weekly Collection. This time we'll see The Glove in one of his most beloved models, Allen Iverson in without a doubt his most beloved model, and more!

We start out this week's Kicks on Cards Collection with Gary Payton in one of the favorites of his signature line, the Zoom GP from 1999.  With it's buckled strap system, asymmetrical lace cover, and five prominent ovals incorporated into its design, it's definitely one of the more unique basketball shoes from the late 90's.  I could go on, but there's not much more I can say about the Zoom GP not already covered by Nick DePaula's excellent write up back in Novemeber of 2010 which you can read HERE.  On this card we see The Glove in his PE edition with his #20 on the ankles (also weating on of those horrible maroon Supersonics uniforms).

This week's second card brings us Allen Iverson in his first and most celebrated signature model: the Reebok Question.  The Question debuted in 1996 and is still one of Reebok's most famous shoes.  Unlike many of our other favorite Reebok models of the 90's, we have been treated to retro releases of the Question on numerous occasions, making it one of Reebok's best selling shoes of all time.  Spotted on this card is AI during his rookie season with the classic white and red colorway...with only one tattoo and what might just be the first incarnation of his signature braids.

Next up is another Sonic and teammate of Gary Payton, Nate McMillan in the Nike Air Maestro in it's 1996 version. Lesser known than it's earlier versions, the Maestro '96 was still a solid shoe worn by many guards and forwards. To finish up the week we see the obscure Darnell Mee in the Nike Air Swift (also note James Worthy and Danny Schayes sporting matching Oakley goggles) and Terry Cummings in a pair of nice and simple Puma sneakers.  As always, drop a comment with your favorites!
