Kicks on Cards: Card of the Week with Latrell Sprewell in the Converse Voltage

For this week's card we'll take a look at Latrell Sprewell in the Converse Voltage.

Latrell Sprewell is one of those players that has worn quite a few different shoe brands throughout his playing career (I.E. Ron Artest).  Nike, And 1, his infamous Dada Spinners, even PE Air Jordan IX's...the list is long and includes a stint with Converse, during which he wore the shoes spotted on the Card of the Week: the Converse React Voltage.  Released in 1995-96 and worn by both pros and college players, the Voltage is an awesome, yet overlooked shoe of the mid 90's.  Everybody remembers Larry Johnson's signature Converse shoes like the AeroJam and BackJam, but the Voltage seems to be long forgotten.  The shoe features a bold, zig-zagging electrically inspired design.  Like many of out favorite shoes of this period like the Kamikaze, Shaqnosis, Air More Uptempo, Zoom Flight '95, etc. this shoe seems to be designed with the "fat end of the marker", as they say, and is an easily recognizable model.

So why is this great shoe forgotten? Because it's not Nike? Maybe because it wasn't any player's signature model?  It's hard to say exactly. At least we have basketball cards like this to bring back its memory.  If only we could get a retro!
