Nike is out of the hockey market presently, but in the mid to late 90's they were big into making hockey skates, equipment, and these hilarious commercials. The premise of this ad series is that the opposing players wearing Nike skates were so good that they put the goalies out of work. In the two commercials below, we watch as a crazed French-Canadian goalie terrorizes his cab customers after former hockey great Mats Sundin terrorized his net and a Philadelphia Flyers goalie seeking revenge by filling an opposing player's skate with shaving cream. In the shaving cream commercial we get a nice look at the Nike skate and we could all probably agree that as far as a hockey skate is concerned, it's a pretty nice design. If you look closely on the tongue of the skate, you can see a Zoom Air logo, which means in addition to these great commercials, Nike brought some innovation to their hockey line.
There is a whole slew of these commercials on YouTube but unfortunately most of them have "Embedding disabled by request" so I can't add them to the post. If you like these ones featured, make sure to at least check out the "Burgerama" commercial with some faces that might be familiar to you.
