Yesterday, during Nike's 2015 Investor Day Meeting, the brand's President of Product & Merchandising Jeanne Jackson dropped a bombshell of an announcement regarding the 2016 Olympics.

After touting Nike's plans for next year's major sporting events, Jackson shifted her attention to the Rio Olympics. "Remember the Flyknit debut in 2012? Look forward to Rio," Jackson said.

Although her statement leaves much room for interpretation, it's pretty clear that something major is in the works for the global event. Flyknit has proven to be the brand's biggest innovation in recent memory, so if Nike's confident enough to compare it to whatever is coming next, that must be something truly revolutionary.

Stay tuned, this should be REALLY good.
