When Stephen Curry sat down with Under Armour designers for the player’s third signature basketball sneaker, he had two asks. He wanted to have mobility in his forefoot, but still feel contained.
It was a paradoxical for sure, but the Under Armour Curry 3 marked a couple firsts for UA Basketball. As the brand’s premier sneaker in basketball and signature model for its best player on the roster, it has to represent the best of what Under Armour has to offer.
The latest technology it has to offer is Threadborne, a proprietary material that was used in the upper to make the sneaker lightweight and more durable than its predecessors.
Another first found in the UA Curry 3: Meta-Wing. The carbon fiber plates on the lateral and medial side of both shoes are made for stability and were designed specifically with Curry’s game in mind.
There is more to these new technologies that meets the eye. The sneaker’s designer Kort Neumann breaks Under Armour’s latest technology added to the UA Curry line in the interactive photo below. Hover over the dots on the "TCC" colorway of the Under Armour Curry 3 to get exclusive design insight.
