Nike's Assist Program Makes Sneaker Buying Easier

Nike gives in-store customers access to online product with new program.

Nike is aiming to change the way people purchase Swoosh product with the new Nike.com Assist service.

The service, which is already available at NIKETOWN New York and Nike Running University Village, allows shoppers to purchase product from Nikestore online in physical Nike stores. How does this differ from the standard retailer service of offering online shopping in-store?

The big difference here, as listed in Nike's official guidelines on the program, is that "Nike.com Assist lets Nike consumers buy in-store product and Nike.com product in a single, mobile transaction." They'll even ship it to your for free.

This likely won't affect the purchase of limited products or particularly sought after releases. Nike notes that "many launch products sell out quickly, your best bet to purchase launch products is to follow @nikestore for updates."
