The next step of the highly successful partnership between Under Armour and Stephen Curry is an official sponsorship of his alma mater.
It's being reported by Charlotte Observer that the sports apparel company will outfit 20 of Davidson College’s 21 teams beginning with the 2016-17 season. The men's basketball team will make the jump from Nike to Under Armour in 2018.
“I take great pride in my alma mater,” Curry said in a statement. “Davidson is such a key part of my history and journey to the NBA and I’m thrilled that they have joined the Under Armour family.”
The deal brings a new sense of stability to the school's athletic department; teams were previously outfitted in a variety of brands.
