The 'Big Bubble' version of the Nike Air Max 1 continues to roll out in new colorways, the latest a throwback to the model's origins.
As mentioned in our January report, this Air Max 1 '86 is inspired by an early sketch of the model by designer Tinker Hatfield. Light blue textiles are layered over a light grey mesh on the upper, with a blue safari-printed mudguard wrapped around the shoe's base. Below sits a pre-yellowed midsole that bears 'AIR' lettering mimicking Hatfield's hand-drawn sketch.
The "First Sketch" Air Max 1 '86 will release this summer for $170. Keep an eye out for release date updates and official imagery in the months ahead.
