I'm not sure exactly why these exist, but images of a great unreleased Player Exclusive colorway of Baron Davis' first Li-Ning signature shoe the BD Doom have surfaced. The shoe features a black nubuck base with tonal faux snakeskin patent overlays and mesh used for the tongue and collar. Vibrant neon green accents pop off the Li-Ning and Beardman logos, heel pull-tab, lace eyelets and outsole, while the midsole is done in contrasting white.

Aside from the appealing colorway, the story behind this shoe's creation is what makes it interesting. Lasered on the toes of the shoes is "00:00:01" and "12-27-09." This date is in reference to a 2009-2010 game between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers in which Baron Davis hit a game-winning shot at the buzzer, hence the "00:00:01" lasering. Additionally, the words "Buzzer" and "Beater" replace the usual "Baron Davis" notation on the backside of the tongue pull-tabs.

The game itself, outside of the fact that it was a huge upset, wasn't very significant. It was about 30 games into the season and the Clippers were below .500. However, I don't really need an explanation; the colorway is great and capitalizing on special moments is what helps sneaker brands grow. March on, Li-Ning.
