Liverpool Football Club and adidas Soccer have officially unveiled the brand new third kit for the 2011-2012 season. The design of the new kits is inspired by the classic tracksuit tops worn by the LFC teams of the mid-80s, featuring diagonal stripe detailing across the chest of the shirt.

Digging further into Liverpool's rich history, the inclusion of cyan blue in the design is reminiscent of Liverpool's first home kit worn almost 120 years ago. That uniform incorporated white and blue halves until Bill Shankly came along in 1964 and changed to an all-red kit. Cyan blue is used throughout the shirt design, including the 3-Stripes across the shoulders and shirt sponsor. The main design of the shirt features diagonal stripes in black and cyan blue over the right shoulder and continuing around the trim of the sleeve, creating both a modern and stylish look that still salutes the club's history. A closer look at the shirt also reveals a diagonal, tonal emboss running through the fabric.

Once again, adidas has incorporated some of their best on-pitch performance technology into the design of the new Liverpool kits. The incorporation of TechFit improves speed, increases endurance capabilities and enhances awareness. ClimaCool construction adds a mixture of heat and moisture controlling materials, ventilation channels and 3D fabrics that improve air flow to the skin in key heat zones.

New for the 2011/12 season the kit also includes a revolutionary sock design which features anatomically placed cushioning and Achilles protector.

The new Liverpool Football Club Third Kit will officially be sold on July 14th, but can be pre-ordered now at www.store.liverpoolfc.tv.
