NBA All-Star weekend has turned into one of the biggest events of the year when it comes to big sneaker releases. Thanks to @zsneakerheadz, there is now word on at least one of the pairs that will reportedly be hitting retailers next February.
While images have yet to surface, initial mock-ups suggest that the host city of Chicago will be celebrated with an appropriately-colored Air Jordan 3. The pair is rumored to sport an all-red upper, traditional elephant print paneling, and black details. The color scheme obviously evokes thoughts of the Windy City's NBA franchise, the Bulls.
Given Michael Jordan's connection to Chicago, don't expect this to be the only special pair Jordan Brand will be releasing next year. Stay tuned as more details become available regarding the "Chicago All-Star" Air Jordan 3.

UPDATE (01/22): Along with the official unveiling of the upcoming "Red Cement" aka "Retro U" Air Jordan 3, Jordan Brand has debuted a Chicago-exclusive version of the colorway. This pair features "Nike Chi" branding on the heel in place of its traditional "Nike Air" branding. Both pairs will be released on Saturday, Feb. 15.
UPDATE (02/10): Foot Locker has announced that the Chicago-exclusive version of the "Red Cement" Air Jordan 3 will now release earlier than expected with a launch slated for tomorrow, Feb. 12. The standard "Red Cement" pair is still expected to arrive on Saturday, Feb. 15.
UPDATE (02/19): After debuting at NBA All-Star Weekend, what was once an exclusive to the city of Chicago will release again with the Air Jordan 3 QS. This pair swaps "AIR" heel branding for the letters "CHI" and includes slightly different details including its insole logo. It's now listed for a SNKRS release this Saturday, Feb. 22 for $200.
