PUMA's latest sneaker drop is bringing space age swagger to the streets.
The bold new RS 9.8 pack is a sneaker inspired by the power of space travel and people who defy societal rules. A nod to our growing interplanetary aspirations, the RS 9.8 model name relates to 9.8 m/s2 – the approximate speed of gravitational acceleration near the Earth’s surface.
Just as the speed of an object falling freely here increases by about 9.8 meters every second, the sneakers powered with PUMA’s Running System technology adds much-needed momentum to a new, street-ready silhouette.
The influence of space travel gives the shoe a FUTRO aesthetic that features cosmos-themed bold colors. The sneaker is imagined with a textile upper decked with suede and leather overlays, while a light weight PU midsole is reinvented to create unique, space-inspired spheres.
