Converse have delivered utilitarian heat for their new “Mountain Club” capsule collection.

The new release is strongly influenced by the brand’s military heritage, which dates back to Converse’s production of military-grade equipment during World War II. The utility of these heritage items shaped the new Converse Mountain Club capsule. Specifically, Converse was inspired by the Extreme Cold Weather Boot, a rubber military boot developed in the 1950s and once produced by Converse.

The new collection reinterprets three classic Converse styles — the Chuck Taylor All Star, One Star and Fastbreak — which add GORE-TEX® technology to make the shoes waterproof, with instructions such as instructions such as “FOLD GUSSET THIS SIDE ONLY” and “KEEP DOUBLE LACED TO HOLD FIRMLY” adding to the utilitarian vibe.  Check out the new silhouettes below.

The full Mountain Club collection can be copped from the Converse web store and via select retailers from November 8.
