PROMO: BlocBoy JB and Big Boi Celebrate the Puma RS-0 and 808 Day in NYC

Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB and OutKast legend Big Boi celebrate the Puma RS-0 and 808 Day in New York City

On August 7, Puma and Complex joined forces to throw an epic party, celebrating the release of the new RS-0 Sound sneaker and Roland’s iconic 808 machine that changed music production forever.

Held at The Flat, in the Flatiron District in midtown Manhattan, the event was tricked out with old-school box television sets, vintage stereo equipment, and a photo installation, which captured the blending of the past and future—the inspiration behind the design of the RS-0 Sound.

DJ Stonie Blue, OG Ron C, and Suzi Analogue (who played a live 808 set) provided the evening’s soundtrack, bumping hits of today and yesterday. Complimentary themed cocktails from Courvoisier and a potpourri of fresh bites, cooked up by Sweet Chick, circulated the space to satisfy the cravings of all in attendance.

To help turn the crowd all the way up, Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB and OutKast legend Big Boi came through, debuting their collaborative video project. Rounding out the stacked guest list were Pro Era producer Kirk Knight, Open Late’s own AraabMuzik, rapper Twelve’len, and many more.
