Hip-hop collective A Tribe Called Quest are about to add another item to their already-long list of achievements and accolades: the iconic New York group is getting their own line of sneakers, thanks to Vans.
The exclusive sneaker collection pays tribute to the group’s outstanding contributions to music and pop culture with designs that memorialize their classic album artwork and vibrant song lyrics. The Era style features an all-over graphic print of album covers spanning from 1990 to 2016. Based on The Anthology album artwork, the group’s rendition of the Old Skool features a classic black on black colorway. The Sk8-Hi features odes to their well-known "Bonita Applebum" track with album artwork and printed lyrics on the shoelaces, quarter panels and lining.
The Vans x A Tribe Called Quest collaboration launches tomorrow (April 6) and will be available exclusively in Canada at Foot Locker. The styles are priced between $75 and $100 CAD.
