Birdman on Not Being Involved in Drake and Lil Wayne's Sneaker Deals: 'I Just Stand Down and Just Play My Role'

In the latest episode of 'Sneaker Shopping,' Birdman explains why he doesn't get involved in lucrative sneaker deals for Drake and Wayne.

Birdman recently caught up with Complex's own Joe La Puma at Flight Club in Los Angeles for the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping, where he talked about everything from his Lugz deal to the classic Cash Money style.

During the interview, Birdman also shared his thoughts on sneaker resellers, explaining, "Any kind of hustle's a good hustle." Even more interestingly, he talked about not being involved in Drake and Lil Wayne's lucrative sneaker deals.

"I really don't get involved in what they do, you know that's they own thing," he explained. "I be proud of seeing how far they taking it, knowing how far we've come with it, so to me I be more proud for them than anything. I just stand down and just play my role." Cash Money has received a number of sneaker deals over the years, with Drake in particular doing business with Nike's Jordan Brand.

Birdman also took a moment to highlight what Reebok did for Cash Money. "They were the first brand to embrace us," he said. "They always supported us."
