Ronnie Fieg and Kith are in their second season of working with Adidas Soccer, and this time they're doing a collaboration to represent a city that they have a bit of history with: Los Angeles.
For this collaboration, Fieg is outfitting the third Kith football club, the L.A. Rays, and giving them sneakers and gear to go with their predominately olive kits. The collection features two sneakers -- The Nemeziz UltraBOOST 17+ and the Nemeziz 17.1 TR -- as well as tracksuits, shorts, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and jerseys.
"The color palette for the L.A. Rays feels very iconic to me,” Ronnie Fieg says. “Being the Golden State we started with a base of goldenrod, which we really liked when combined with the right shade of olive. We wanted a third color to add to the mix and went with a faded purple. The mixture feels very classic but is brand new, which was the ultimate goal."
One of the biggest changes this season was with the jerseys, which are sponsored by Samsung. "The evolution from Season 1 to 2 is really seen with our jerseys, as we’ve added some of the iconic brands we work with as sponsors," Fieg says. "Samsung has been our tech partner the last few years and has really opened my eyes to new and innovative ways to bring our brand closer to our audience. That’s why I wanted to work with them to be the sponsor for our new Los Angeles team."
To launch the product, Kith will have a pop-up shop at Fred Segal, located at 8500 Sunset Blvd., in Los Angeles tomorrow and host a FIFA '18 tournament with EA Sports. The U.S. might not be playing in the World Cup in 2018, but that doesn't mean you can't still appreciate the beautiful game and great sneakers and clothes.
The collection and sneakers will release this Friday at Kith shops, the Kith Fred Segal Pop-Up at 8500 Sunset Blvd, and at 11 a.m. EST on Kith.com.
