Puma has unveiled their latest collab, which is sure to appeal to the young at heart. The Puma X Sesame Street spring/summer 2017 collection features playful must-have kicks and apparel inspired by the award-winning children's program.
That's right... Elmo, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch have all made their way onto sneakers and apparel for big kids almost 50 years after the iconic TV show aired its first episode on November 10, 1969. Evoking that classic 90’s feel, the Puma x Sesame Street collection features a variety of sneakers, apparel, and accessories, all adorned with references to your favourite characters.
First up? A trio of Puma Prevails kick off the collaboration with fun references to Oscar the Grouch, Elmo (both seen above) and Cookie Monster. Each pair features the signature kooky eyes of the character embroidered on the tongue, while the suede, leather, and mesh uppers match the colours of the corresponding Sesame Street character.
Cookie Monster and Elmo are also featured on Puma's classic Suedes. Cookie Monster's crossed eyes cover the blue pair, while the red pair are covered with Elmos’ distinctive eyes and nose.
Puma’s classic Basket style has also been given a playful treatment with the silhouette featuring an all-over print of different Sesame characters' faces on black or white canvas.
And, since the pool slide trend isn't going anywhere anytime soon, there's even a set of fuzzy slide sandals featuring Elmo and Cookie Monster.
The apparel collection includes track jackets, hoodies, crewneck sweatshirts, running shorts, sweatpants and seven different in-your-face tees. Of course, each piece features a Sesame character-inspired graphic or patches. A 90’s inspired street backpack and cap round out the performance-inspired apparel collection.
The Puma x Sesame Street collection hits select stores across the country, including Foot Locker's Puma Lab in Toronto, on March 10th.
