Earlier today, Nike hosted Swoosh Saturday in Oakland. The event allows young athletes to experience high-energy outdoor training with a Nike Master Trainer and surprise Nike athlete. For the kids attending the Oakland event, that athlete was none other than new Golden State Warrior Kevin Durant.

While visiting his young fans, Durant was presented with the dual-colored "Fire & Ice" Nike KD 9, which will only be releasing in kids' sizes. The wild colorway draws inspiration from a younger Durant's winter practices back home in Maryland. Determined to work through the frigid temperatures, Durant's hands would freeze from the cold, then burn like fire when he washed up in hot water. Both extremes are represented with an icy blue right shoe and a red-hot left.

The kids-exclusive "Fire & Ice" KD 9 will release for $125 on Nov. 11 at nike.com, Nike San Francisco, Kids Foot Locker and Dick's Sporting Goods.
