In the wake of the controversial police killings of black men Philando Castile and Alton Sterling and the tragic shooting in Dallas, WNBA players are using their platform to show support for the victims. Over the weekend, a handful of Minnesota Lynx players wore "Black Lives Matter" shirts, while Brittany Boyd of the New York Liberty donned the above sneakers calling the victims out by name.

Boyd's Nike KD 8 sneakers feature the names "Philando Castile" and "Alton Sterling" Sharpied on the heels of the left and right shoes, respectively.

Some Liberty players also wore shirts, pictured below, that read #BlackLivesMatter and #Dallas5.

This isn't the first time a pro athlete has used their shoes to send this sort of message–in the wake of Trayvon Martin's death, both LeBron James and Dwyane Wade wrote on their sneakers to pay tribute to him.
