Pharrell Williams is a legend. But the Virginia native likes to suggest otherwise, while enlightening you on the process of being a "student of life."

This week, his new adidas Originals “Pink Beach” collection was finally unveiled in a wavy and dimly lit sound stage in Los Angeles, that provided the perfect showcase for the island-themed sneakers and apparel. With a wide range of celebrities in attendance such as DJ Khaled, Big Sean, and A$AP Rocky, this event was more than just a footwear launch, but rather a collection of your favorite artists and entertainers.

Despite all of that, Pharrell sat down with Complex News to provide his thoughts on where his “Pink Beach” collection fits into the landscape of footwear and how his title of “cultural director” influences his input on the upcoming ComplexCon culture festival.
