Back in November there were rumors of the "Olympic" Air Jordan VII making yet another return in 2016, and it's shaping up to be true – with a twist. Michael Jordan debuted the "Olympic" VII during the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Jordan lead the Dream Team to taking home gold medals in the VIIs, but the sneaker fans know and love wasn't always intended to look the way it does. Legendary sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield had several alternate designs before settling on the that one MJ wore and subsequently released.

Still incorporating red, white, and blue, the Air Jordan VII "Tinker Alternate Olympic" is much more patriotic than the released pair. The mostly white sneaker features blue on the side panels, a red midsole, and U.S. Flag on the heel. The number 9, Jordan's jersey number during the 1992 Olympics remains the same.

While there is no scheduled release date for the Air Jordan VII "Tinker Alternate Olympic," it wouldn't come as a surpise to see it be released before this year's Olympic Games. Stay posted for more information.
