After giving Primeknit upgrades to staple silhouettes like the Stan Smith and Superstar, adidas Originals is continuing to apply new tech to classic sneakers.

The latest design to undergo this modernized makeover is the Spezial, an indoor handball shoe that was first introduced in 1979. Since its release, the O.G. has garnered a cult following thanks to its lush blue suede and timeless gum outsole, but it's getting a few changes for 2016.

Here, the sneaker now known as the Very SpezialĀ gets a full Primeknit upper just in time for summer. The coolest part is that the knit pattern follows the original lines and overlays of the O.G., making these more of a homage than an update.

If you're feeling them, the adidas Very Spezial Primeknit can be had now from overseas retailers including Overkill for roughly $147. There's no telling if these will end up making it to the States, so don't sleep, you might regret it later.
