The New Balance MT580 has become one of the brand's most popular silhouettes since its debut in 1996, and to celebrate its 20 year anniversary, Packer Shoes has put its own New Jersey spin on it. For inspiration, Packer started with the sneaker's origin as a trail running sneaker, leading it the forested area of its home state known as the "Pine Barrens" as its theme.
While the inner, heel, and tongue label of this sneaker properly represents the pines with a forest green makeup, the rest of the sneaker appears to go a different route by channeling the spirit of one of the state's biggest urban legends, the Jersey Devil. Shades of red make up most of the upper with hints of purple, white, 3M, and green throughout. In addition to this sneaker, Packer also teamed up with Japanese brand Lafayette on a matching apparel capsule to highlight the sneaker's popularity in Asia. Fans of Packer and the MT580 better start coming up with a game plan to cop now, as these will be limited to only 500 pairs.
This sneaker releases on March 25, at both Packer locations and online at packershoes.com.
