adidas' Global Director of Entertainment and Influencer Marketing Jon Wexler—a.k.a. the man who was instrumental in making the Kanye West deal happen—stopped by Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club this morning to talk all things Three Stripes with DJ Envy, Charlamagne, and Angela Yee. Topics covered included the recent success of the NMD launch, the brand's collaborations with artists like Pharrell and Big Sean, and of course, Yeezy Boosts.

When asked about the Yeezy Boost's limited availability, Wexler explained that it's quite not as cut and dry as it might appear to an outsider. Due to the Yeezy sneakers' use of complex technologies like Boost and Primeknit, there's only so many pairs that can be produced in a short timeframe. "It takes X amount of time to sew those sneakers together, and we can only get so much of this Boost material from NASA," Wexler explained.

There's a silver lining, however. Wexler says that it's the brand's goal to have more output of not only the Yeezy Boost, but all of its sneakers. It sounds like Kanye might end up living up to his promise that everyone would get a pair after all.
