Earlier this week, Kevin Hart surprised the sneaker community by debuting his own Nike trainers on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Now, in a new interview with The Breakfast Club spotted by Sole Collector, Hart's shedding some light on how the project came to be.
"It's not a sneaker for fashion. I don't have a fashion sneaker coming out," Hart said. "I have a cross-training sneaker. What Nike is doing with me is they same thing they did with Bo Jackson. This is the first sneaker that's basically built for everything. I run, jump, cut, I do lifting, I do it all."
While Hart's claim of it being the first sneaker built for "everything" may be a bit of an exaggeration, it's clear that he's not kidding around when it comes to the shoe's performance capabilities.
"I don't want the 'clothing' sneaker. I don't want the sneaker that's being sold, you know, as a stylish brand's shoe. I want people to actually buy the sneaker and say, 'Yo, I'm in those Hustle Harts,'" he said.
