2015 was a year full of far too much sneaker violence, and now it looks like it is still happening in the new year, too. Patch reports that a 17-year-old teenager robbed a 20-year-old man with a loaded gun, at the victim's home in Joliet, IL over the weekend.

According to the report, the two agreed to meet at the victim's home for the sneakers to be purchased, but the suspect instead pulled out a loaded pistol and demanded the sneakers. Authorities were able to catch the suspect, who allegedly lives just blocks away from the victim. "Officers tracked the teen down a short time later and found he was still carrying the loaded pistol as well as the stolen sneakers," reports Patch. The report doesn't detail what the brand of the sneakers were, but this is an important lesson for everyone to take extra caution when meeting up for sneaker exchanges.
