Lacey Holsworth captured the attention and hearts of college basketball fans during the 2013-2014 season, after her friendship with former Michigan St. player Adreian Payne became national news. The 8-year-old bonded with Payne over her love for basketball, and because of the support he provided during her battle with cancer. Holsworth lost her battle in 2014, but her spirits lives on, and this week college coaches are honoring her by wearing sneakers with their suits.

As part of the "Coaches vs Cancer" week, coaches all over the country are "lacing up for Lacey" to raise awareness for the American Cancer Society and Princess Lacey's Legacy. In addition to sneakers, some coaches are also wearing special gold laces, made by Shoe Carnival to raise money for the battle against pediatric cancer. It's great to see college hoops continue to honor the life of one of its biggest fans.

You can see some of the sneakers being worn by following the #LaceUpforLacey hashtag, and support the cause by purchasing a pair of laces here.
