Kristaps Porzingis is playing his way into the NBA Rookie of the Year conversation, but that doesn't mean he still doesn't get the normal rookie treatment. It's expected to get treated like a rookie from your teammates, but it looks like the New York Knicks' top pick is getting it from Nike, too. Apparently, Porzingis couldn't get a Knicks' colorway of game sneakers sent to him, so he took matters into his own hands by coloring his blue with a marker.

Porzingis took the floor in a pair of black and white Nike Kobe X Elites last night vs. the Dallas Mavericks, and it was clear that something was a bit off about his sneakers. A closer looks shows that blue marker was used to fill in the Swoosh, making the sneakers a better match to the Knicks' uniforms. Props to Porzingis for going with the Penny Hardaway sharpie approach, but with how well he's playing, expect Nike to lace him up with PEs soon.
