The "Chrome" Air Jordan VIIIs are already one of the season's most anticipated sneakers, yet aside from Nike's official images and pictures of the 2003 version, there hasn't been much to go by. Now, we're getting our first in-hand look at the 2016 release.

Shared by @realchickenwop, these VIIIs look like they've hit on all the points that made the 2003 release such a classic — almost. Look closely and you'll notice that the plastic strap closure has been given a matte grey finish, which is a pretty big contrast from the metallic "Chrome" that became synonymous with the previous release. Still, despite this change, the overall color scheme and materials look like they're on point.

As usual, Jordan Brand is showing no mercy on wallets this holiday season, with these VIIIs set to drop the day after Christmas on December 26 for $190.
