Michael Jordan's NBA career is unmatched — after all, there's a reason people call him the greatest of all-time — but even Jordan himself admits that his sneakers have overtaken his on-court achievements.

"To me, it's much bigger than Michael Jordan. It's going to outlive me in terms of what I did for the game of basketball," Jordan told USA Today. He says it's "amazing" whenever he sees kids who were clearly too young to have watched him in action wear his sneakers.

As for the competition, well, there is none, according to Jordan, who played his last NBA game in 2003. "I can't explain it and no one can explain it. And if anybody could explain it or duplicate it, they would have done it by now," he said.

If anyone has earned the right to be cocky about their sneaker accomplishments, it's this guy.
