When it's all said and done, 2015 will go down as one of — if not the — best years for ASICS collaborations ever. The 25th anniversary of the Gel-Lyte III has brought about a number of outstanding collaborative releases, and it's not done yet. Next to throw their hat in the ring is Singapore's Limited Edt — not to be confused with Spain's LimitEDitions — who have cooked up one of the most colorful releases for their first-ever ASICS sneaker.
The Limited Edt x ASICS Gel Lyte III not only celebrates the sneaker's anniversary, but also that of Singapore's 50th year of independence. This significant collaboration is inspired by Singapore's national flower, the Vanda 'Miss Joachim,' which is also known as the Singapore Orchid.
As you'll see on the eye-catching printed upper, the store chose to emphasize the floral theme, while black leather and purple formstripes help to balance the look. Down low, a grey-and-white speckled midsole provides an additional pop of color.
For those who are lucky enough to purchase these in store, the Singapore-exclusive version will come packaged with a custom matching tie, a water repellant spray, and a set of purple waxed laces. The sneakers retail for $269 SGD, which converts to around $193 USD. Limited Edt will release them in store and online on Friday, October 23, followed by a wider Asia release on November 6.
