With just days to go until the start of the 2015-16 NBA regular season, many eyes are already fixated on second overall draft pick D'Angelo Russell. The Lakers rookie, who was quickly scooped up by Nike over the summer, recently bumped into TMZ and was asked if he's planning to "go the Stephon Marbury route" and sell his sneakers for $15 a pop when he gets a multi-million dollar shoe deal.

"What if I already got it?," Russell said in reference to the lucrative endorsement. As for the $15 price tag, Russell kept it short and sweet: "Sure, why not?," he said.

Of course, before any of this happens, we'll first have to see what comes of Russell's Nike deal. While he has the potential to earn his own signature sneaker, it's definitely not the sort of thing that happens overnight, and it could be awhile before we see anything official.

Furthermore, even if Russell genuinely does want to sell his sneakers for $15, it goes without saying that Nike probably isn't going to share the same outlook. Still, it's the thought that counts, right?
