Paris is widely acclaimed as the fashion epicenter of the universe, but that's highly based upon the city's love of clothing and the natural style seems to emanate from its residents. But the French city also has a love of sneakers, too, and it shined through at this year's Sneakerness event, a sneaker convention that travels around Europe. The recaps of the show have been unreal, and it's proving that there's something powerful going on in Paris in regards to athletic footwear.

The folks over at Highsnobiety and Sneakers Addict both made it down to the show to capture what happened. Not only did they catch what people had on their feet — a wide array of runners that resell for immense dollar amounts — but the collections that were being sold, too.

Paris is a city that features shops such as colette, Starcow, and Opium, and it's also a place that loves the Huarache and the Stan Smith, naturally combining sportswear and high-fashion. It's not only a city that loves its sneakers, but also knows how to properly wear them.

Take a look at the pictures below and decide where the Parisians stand in the pantheon of sneaker cities across the globe.
