Shortly after its announcement on Twitter, Nike has revealed official details regarding the debut model of the LeBron XIII.

For LeBron's latest signature model, the shoe's design inspiration comes directly from James' hometown of Akron. The shoe features five specific areas that will be the focal point of each colorway and story telling: the top of the tongue, tongue design detail, the heel tab, the Swoosh on the forefoot, and the inside heel.

As far as performance, the XIII is "built for explosiveness." Its features include an upper featuring breathable mesh and zoned Hyperposite for a more custom fit with Flywire incorporated for adaptive lockdown. The other areas of the Hyperposite are intended to increase durability, support, and protection without sacrificing flexibility. For cushioning, Nike Zoom Air is featured once again in the hexagonal chambers that first debuted in the LeBron XII. The size and placement of the hexagonal Zoom Air units have been updated for better performance with a total of four being used, two 13 millimeter thick units, one in the heel and the other in the ball of the foot with two smaller units placed in the forefoot at peak pressure points.

Nike and James have named the first colorway "Written in the Stars," and with the shoe set to make its retail debut in China beginning October 1 followed by a global release on October 10. An "Away" colorway  is slated to drop in time to kickoff the NBA season on October 27. And last but not least, the Nike LeBron XIII is slated to make its NikeiD debut beginning September 30.
