UPDATE (8/14/15, 4:45 p.m.):

ESPN has revealed further details on the upcoming Jordan flagship in Chicago. There will not only be an emphasis on Air Jordan product, but also the brand's rich history and the Chicago community. Upstairs, there will be an area open to Jordan Brand athletes that can also be used as a promotional venue.

"We understand that the brand is so huge now that it's global, but we [still] understand where it originated. Red, white, and black. Chicago Bulls colors," Michael Jordan said. "I've been on these guys [at Nike] for some time, [saying] 'We need to do a Jordan Brand store, and we need to do it in Chicago first."

Although Jordan Brand and Footaction recently launched Flight 23 stores in New York, Las Vegas, and Chicago, the new store is unique because it's a 100 percent Jordan Brand production with no assistance from Footaction.

We've also learned that Station 23 is set to open downtown at 32 South State Street, although the grand opening date has yet to be made public.

Although Michael Jordan might not be up on the latest sneaker memes, the G.O.A.T. isn't out of touch by any means. For proof, look no further than yesterday's unveiling of Chicago's new Jordan Brand flagship which took place on Snapchat of all places.

Last night, the Jumpman23 Snapchat account rolled out a preview of the new store, dubbed Station 23. Michael Jordan himself was on hand for the announcement, signing off on blueprints and taking a cast of his hands. On foot, M.J. once again donned a pair of Air Jordan XX9 Lows, the same shoes that made "What are those?" headlines last week.

There were also a series of all-over print graphics on display, some of which resemble the work of Chicago-based artist Hebru Brantley. This is especially noteworthy because Hebru just announced a collaboration with Jordan Brand last night, and this could be our first preview of the partnership between the two.

Although no exact location or opening date was revealed, the Snapchat story was capped off with a message that red, "See you soon, Chi-City." Stay tuned for more as Station 23 prepares to officially open and check out some captures of the story below courtesy of Sole Collector.
