It's been almost 13 years since Jam Master Jay of Run DMC passed away, but his legacy lives on. Adidas, the brand that Jay helped make famous in America and endorsed, has shown love to the slain DJ in the form of limited-edition sneakers in the past. There's another pair of Shell Toes, specifically Pro Models, made for a back-to-school drive they do in the memory of Jay.
The Pro Models, which have Jay with a Trefoil on the heel tab, were posted by Jay's close friend, Shake, on Instagram today. Adidas has confirmed that these were made in a small run for Shake and DMC, and it's the first time the brand has created these sneakers for the event. There was also a T-shirt produced, too.
It's good to see a brand such as adidas paying homage to Jay and in a way that can make people smile, even if in remembrance.
