It's debatable whether adidas is a luxury brand or not. The German company has a handful of collaborations with high-fashion designers, and has always made premium products. But at the core of adidas' stripes is a sporting heritage — one that has transcended on and off the field.

The latest offering from the brand that marries these two worlds, while not cheapening either, is a set of Hamburgs that are Made in Germany. Each sneaker — one navy, one maroon — comes in a very distinct, quality leather, with waxed laces and a gum sole.

The irony of these sneakers is that although they're fancy enough to be placed in a display case, they're going to have a strong appeal to the casual or football hooligan set. And will most likely be worn with Stone Island jackets by people who will be barred from entering the local pub.

That tidbit aside, Overkill in Berlin will release these two sneakers on August 15, with each fetching a retail price of 200 euros or $220.
