Out of all of the retro running sneakers that get love from retailers for collaborations, the Puma Disc Blaze is one of the most difficult models for people to wear. It's due to the Disc on the forefoot of the sneaker that allows it to be tightened or loosened to the wearer's preference. There have been solid projects on this silhouette in the past, largely thanks to Ronnie Fieg, and another partner is giving it a crack, Japan's Monkey Time, and it's solid.
The theme for the collab is "Orca," which was also present on Monkey Time's recent ASICS Gel-Lyte V. This time around, the Puma gets a white toe and a black upper, much like the ASICS, but there's a much more technical feel to the Disc Blaze, due to the use of mesh.
The early look at the "Orcas" is thanks to the folks at Highsnobiety, who report that there is no set release date.
