As the inaugural New York Fashion Week: Men's show comes to a close tonight, Coach has just debuted a sneaker that looks very familiar.
Previewed by the Men's Fashion Director for Bloomingdale's, Josh Peskowitz, these unnamed Coach kicks bear a striking resemblance to the Vans Sk8-Hi. From the ribbed panels around the ankle to the side stripe and toe stitching, there's no question as to where Coach found the inspiration for these.
While some may be quick to call these a flat-out copy, let's not forget that brands like Hender Scheme have popped off solely from their reinterpretations of famous sneakers. Maybe Coach is onto something here.
