As the Nike KD7 "What The" release approaches this weekend, Nike is giving us better idea of exactly how many different designs went into this latest mashup.
In total, the Nike KD7 "What The" includes call backs to 18 different previously released KD7 colorways. To start the process, Nike Basketball focused on the KD line's defining element — the supportive forefoot strap. There, it's blended an angel wing from the "Aunt Pearl" KD7 on the left shoe with the architecture-inspired strap from the KD7 "All-Star" colorway on the right.
Meanwhile, Durant's fondness for meteorology is represented by the lightning-inspired graphics throughout, including the heel's glow-in-the-dark Hyperposite treatment. You'll also find references to Durant's affinity for travel, his favorite holiday beverage, eggnog, and more. How many can you spot?
Look out for the "What The" Nike KD7 on June 20. As of now, Nikestore is planning for an online release, but that's subject to change due to the brand's ongoing efforts to combat bots.
