Sneakerheads and Entourage fans will be in for a huge treat this Wednesday as the celebrated HBO series finally comes to life on the silver screen. As the premiere draws closer, it was revealed that Jordan Brand has a special sneaker made just for the movie, but the focus right now is on one specific cast member.
Arguably cable's most lovable sidekick, Entourage costume designer Olivia Miles-Payne has outfitted Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) with a ton of Air Jordan heat for his role in the film. As the gang's resident sneakerhead, Turtle needs to stay laced in fire so we reached out to Payne to see exactly which Jordans he'd be rocking.
"The three most notable pairs are 'Black/Cement' IIIs, 'Laney' Vs, and 'Bred' 1s," Payne says. Those in itself could be considered grails to many sneakerheads and Turtle's also been known to rock some exclusives, but fans might be a bit disappointed that we won't be seeing any 1-of-1s. "We didn't have time to do custom [sneakers]," Payne admitted.
While custom footwork will be absent, there are still other fire Jordans seen on Turtle's feet. So far we're able to see a Japan-exclusive Air Jordan 1 from 2001, "White/Infrared" VIs, and "Powder Blue" Xs. 'Heads will also be happy to hear that Undefeated still plays a part in the movie even if it's offscreen. "We shopped at Undefeated and received some from Jordan [Brand] directly," Payne acknowledged.
